Felt has self cleaning properties and does not require frequent washing.

However if required jackets and shawls can be hand washed in a mild detergent or hair shampoo and warm water. Rinse in warm water and remove excess water by gently squeezing in an old towel. Lay out flat on a dry towel and iron on reverse while still wet. Leave to dry.

Dirt can be brushed off hats and bags and then additionally wiped off with a damp cloth or sponge.

Felt will retain the shape it has dried in, so ensure you leave it to dry in the shape you require.
